thanks u for your videos on youtube.

i have a question: what was the role of a devadasi in temples of ancient india?

were there devadasies in the temples of Kali? and do u know where the cave temples dedicated to Kali were /are located?

i am asking these questions as i have recurrent visions of some cave temple and me being brought there by my parents while i was a little girl.

In the very beginning, devadasis were expert dancers. They used to dance spiritually. Through dance, they entered a meditative state. Unfortunately later on, this tradition and name became corrupted. These days, devadasis becomes synonymous with prostitutes. Only poor girls are sold in those temples. These temples can be found in southern and western India. Acharya Shree
